The police have a 'thankless' job and they get a hard time in the media. I sometimes think it is very hard to please the public.

I used to work on taking cases to court and can understand it must be so hard for the police when they have taken a long time, weeks, sometimes months to get a case into court and then nothing happens, the perpetrator is either found not guilty or given a short sentence. It can be very disheartening for the police, but do keep up the good work!
